Rados RDS-80A Handheld Radiation & Contamination Monitor

The rugged and easy to use RDS-80A Surface Contamination Meter is a versatile contamination detector which has been designed for a wide range of applications in different fields of radiation protection.  Versatile enough to be used in the nuclear industry, rescue/haz mat operations, and any application involving the potential for abnormal radiation contamination levels (including the monitoring of radiological contamination of food and other goods).  This digital, handheld meter is ideal for anyone  who needs to locate and detect contaminated surfaces and objects and does not require extensive training and experience with radiation and radiation safety.

The main functions are comprised of contamination measurements with easy to enable/disable alarm, automatic conversion to activity value and other surface contamination measurements.  The RDS80A also has the ability to store events into the meter’s internal memory using the histogram function.

The use of configuration software (CWS) is required for downloading the data into a PC via IrDA port).

Features include:

  • IP67 - very robust for harsh environments

  • wide measurement range: up to 100,000 CPM or 1,000 000 DPM
