WB Johnson Radiation Instruments

WB Johnson Instruments is now offering a 2 year warranty on all of its products. WB Johnson products are considered to be of the highest quality and a 2 year warranty will further set them apart from the competition. WB Johnson Instruments, formerly WM B. Johnson, was founded in 1955. Mr. William Johnson, a health physicist who attended Purdue University and worked on the Manhattan Project.

In the beginning, our products were mainly specialty instruments and detectors built under contract for the U.S. Navy, including quartz fiber pocket dosimeters and hand held survey meters. In the 1970’s WM. B Johnson developed a significant market for very high range telescoping survey meters (utilized around nuclear reactors) and quartz fiber pocket dosimeters, and thereby obtaining the rights to manufacturer a high quality, flexible alpha scintillator used extensively by government and private laboratories to measure radon and special nuclear materials.
